HISTORY OF ALUMNI

The school came into being as a result of a decision by the Federal Government to put into effect the recommendation of the Elliot commission on Technological Education of 1946/47 or thereabout. The first set of students were enrolled in October 1948. Their training coincided with the inauguration of the University of London to enable Yaba Higher College, mainly the first Nigeria Medical School of that time to be transferred to Ibadan to form the nucleus of the University.

This move made room for the first intake of the proposed technical school to occupy the premises of the old Higher College.
