Abiodun O. ADEBAYO-OYETORO PhD is the Centre Director.
This center was established in 2018 by Mrs Folorusho Alakija – a Fellow, Yaba College of Technology (FYCT) out of undying passion to create a platform and environment for the development of skills and training of anyone that requires such.
The Vision and Mission of the center is to ‘nurture lively, inquiring and discerning individuals that will be self-reliant in the spheres of life’
Presently, vocational courses that are available include: Tailoring and Fashion Designing, Cake Making (Fondant and Pastries), Hairdressing and Wig Production, Auto Servicing, Shoemaking, Event Planning and Management, Plumbing Technology, Tie and Dye making, Nail Artistry (Pedicure and Manicure), Welding and fabrication, IT/Web Design, Gele tying and Make-up training, Photography/Photo-editing, Soap Making, Bead Making amongst others. Certificates in these programmes are awarded upon successful completion of either the six (6) months or three (3) months training session. Students are taught both on the theory and practical aspects of their chosen vocations.
The graduation ceremony for the first set of students was held in September, 2019 with 67 graduands cut across the various vocations.
2019 GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR THE FIRST SET
This was held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Yusuf Grillo Hall, Yaba College of Technology amidst pomp and pageantry. Sixty-seven (67) trainees, graduated on that day which was attended by the Founder, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, the Rector and other members of College Management, members of the college community, parents, friends and well-wishers. Part of the graduation ceremony were awards of cash and start-up equipment and tools for best graduating students from several donors. Apart from the Visioner, other people and organisations that contributed to the event are: Mr Kolade Osinowo, National Headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Rose of Sharon Foundation, Utopia Media Group. The event was indeed a memorable one.

Application and admission for Six (6) months programmes which include: Fashion design, Cake making, Plumbing Technology, Auto servicing, Shoe making, Event Management, Tie and Dying, Hairdressing and Wig making, Photography/Photoediting and IT/Web Design, Welding and Fabrication etc will be in January and July of every year while for Three (3) months programmes, training will be starting from January, April, July and October respectively.
